So FOME camp was... an experience. Not that anything bad happened, but when you spend half of your days watching a spinning top go around on the kitchen table, something's not right.
So, in list form:
Pro: I actually went this year.
Con: I was one of five people who did.
Pro: We got a room each, which is rather invaluable when you're the only female in the house.
Con: I hit my head on the top of the bunk more often than I'd like.
Pro: Viewings included all of Firefly, five episodes of Blackadder, and at least three of Black Books. And Spaceballs, to remind ourselves that we're the Fantasy, Not British Comedy Club.
Con: I went to sleep before the others started watching Serenity, and now I've got the music in my head. Since I do not own a copy of Serenity (to my eternal shame) I am in somewhat of a pickle.
Pro: More food to go around.
Con: Food consisted of takeaway, bread, nutella, jam and absurdly-sweet cereal. I am well behind on my vegetable and fruit quota.
Pro: Lots of new games were played, and (with the exception of Race For The Galaxy, which should not be inflicted on the recently-awakened under any circumstances) I can play them all passably.
Con: I have no idea when next I'll play them.
But in any case it was an experience, and according to our Thain it was a very small year because everyone else was busy. Perhaps it will be different next year. I shall wait and see.
---
My football team is not playing until next weekend, and thus I cannot gloat about us winning another match. I guess this is karma for being a fair-weather fan.
I keep getting a version of Over The Rainbow stuck in my head sung by a man with a ukulele, and I think it's quite nice until I remember that it comes from the final episode of Life on Mars, and then I want to cry.
