I've just typed a letter that I will send to several bookstores near me, because bookstore = dream job. All the fancy words aside, it reads basically like this:

Dear bookstore owners,

I want to work here because books are shiny and money is also. I promise not to act too much like Bernard. O great ones whose boots I am not fit to lick, I will love you forever if you let me work for you out of the kindness of your souls.

Regards and etc,

El.

...

Well, something like that. I don't think that I mentioned boots in the original.

Meme! Give me a character from any fandom you know I know and I will tell you:

1. My favourite thing about that character.
2. My least favourite thing about that character.
3. One person I would ship them with in their own 'verse.
4. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
5. Their ship from hell.
6. Their song.
7. The title of their biography or autobiography.
8. The last bad dream they had.
9. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.
10. Would I shag them?
(You are excempt from asking me this if you fear TMI. :D)

Fandoms: LOTR, The Silmarillion, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Firefly, Discworld, Blackadder, Black Books, Avatar*?

*Keep in mind that I've only seen up to episode 8 of series 1.

How about Ponder Stibbons?

Ooh, interesting!

1. He believes in the scientific method, no matter how hard it is on the Disc.
2. See above.
3. Stibbons/Drumknott = major nerdy love.
4. Stibbons/Arthur Weasley for their shared love of technical things.
5. Stibbons/Pulsifer. I was going to say that for #4, but then I realised that Ponder would be constantly beating Newton up for making Hex crash. (If we're keeping in the Discworld, I'd say Ponder/Ridcully. Do not want, brain.)
6. 'White and Nerdy' by Weird Al Yankovic.
7. 'A Life Of Pondering' by R. Drumknott.
8. Being stuck on the God of Evolution's island for all time.
9. Brain explodes from too much pseudologic from his fellow wizards. Or possibly food poisoning from eating a peanut butter and sushi pizza.
10. I think we'd both be more interested in Hex, but yes.

Hurrah for bookstores!

Granny Weatherwax?

Discworld is popular this time...

1. She's quite the badass. I admire anyone who can take down vampires with only a cup of tea.
2. Her grammar makes me wince.
3. Weatherwax/Ogg. It's practically canon anyway.
4. Weatherwax/Elrond, because they're both involved in protecting other people, or Weatherwax/Denethor, because they've both got minds like flint.
5. Weatherwaxcest. Not only would it be squicky, they'd probably tear the world apart with magic.
6. 'Walk the Line' by Johnny Cash.
7. 'I Still Aten't Dead' by E. Weatherwax, of course.
8. Using magic to make people better.
9. I think she'd choose the time herself, sort of like in Carpe Jugulum.
10. No, I'd be too intimidated. :D

Kicking off for the Silmarillion team... your random selection is:

Finrod Felagund

From: [identity profile] elvenpiratelady.livejournal.com
1. He's quite possibly the nicest guy in the Silmarillion: friend to elves, dwarves and humans, and didn't really get caught up in the Kinslaying business. And just when you think he's going to love Middle-earth to death, he goes and kills a werewolf with his bare hands.
2. He tends to trust the wrong people (Orodreth, Celegorm, Curufin).
3. Well, Finrod/Amarie is canon, but I'd like to see him with Elrond or Faramir. They seem to have the same outlook on life.
4. After reading To Face The Wolf (http://maglors-finch.livejournal.com/454.html), I think Finrod/Remus would be interesting.
5. I know the Finweans are into marrying second cousins and that, but Fincest is not cool. Finrod/Sauron is also brain-breaking.
6. No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young) by Queen
7. 'Finrod and the Golden Age of Nargothrond' by Orodreth.
8. Something involving fighting wolves.
9. Tolkien took care of that for me.
10. No. It's not fair on Amarie, and I'd rather have him as a friend.
