Musings on Doctor Who

Rose is coming back for season 4.
I really have no idea how to react to this. I liked Rose, but she was really edging into the ZOMG TWU WUV zone by the end of season 2. I really like Martha, though, and Donna and the Doctor should be interesting together. Can you have too many companions? It's starting to seem that way.
Someone on my flist pointed out that yes, bringing characters back can work (School Reunion), but a year doesn't sound like nearly enough time. I was getting very annoyed at the constant references to Rose in season 3, because they were Anvilicious. (Heh, TV Tropes!) And now there's no point to all that angst, because she'll be back anyway.
I've avoided the fandom because Australia is about half a season behind the UK in screening, and I didn't want to get spoilerfied (although it happened anyway...), so I'm not sure how they'll react to this. Doubtlessly there'll be wank over OTPs, and arguments about who is a better companion. I really like Martha as a companion, but I haven't seen Rose for over a year, so she's fading in my memory. It does give opportunities for them to meet each other, though, which should be interesting. Martha knows about Rose, Rose doesn't know about Martha, and got her ideas rearranged during School Reunion. Should be... interesting.
And how are they going to bring her back? I don't think AU is going to work, because currently Rose is in an AU, and it would be like rehashing the plot of Doomsday all over again. Cloning, maybe? Rose getting into the wrong TARDIS? I have no idea how they'll manage it without completely wrecking the canon.
But hell, if Rose can come back, I want Jack and the Master back too.

I'm going to go with the 'wait and see' option in all this, and avoiding the fandom like crazy.
