Over... already?

*sniffle* Oh, Doctor Who finale! I loved you, but godammit, it's going to be a long wait until April for the next season. At least I remember to tape the episodes this time, although I think I've lost The Lazarus Experiment.
I must applaud the casting committee, because John Simms is awesome as the Master. He really reminds me of Trelane from Star Trek, actually, with the childishness+superpowers. If the Master ever got bored taking over the world, he'd be able to get by being a kids' show host. I would totally watch a show like that.
Also, Martha is fantastic. I thought she'd die or turn out to be evil, but I'm glad she left the show that way. I have heard rumours that she joins the Torchwood crew for a couple of episodes... maybe I'll start watching it again. I'm wistfully thinking of her in another season, but it's not to be, I guess. At least there's always the chance of her coming back, so the ficcers will be happy. Well, the Doctor/Martha ficcers, anyway.
Same goes for Jack. I thought he might die permanently, but no. But the Face of Boe?! That is scary and weird and cracky and also works very well. At least he'll get to see the Doctor and Rose and Martha again, although they won't know it.
And the Doctor... erm, yes. He's still awesome, but he seemed kind of... underused in the finale. David Tennant did really well under all the make-up, though.
I think Russel T Davies must be taking the Stan Lee approach to villains - don't let a good one die. The Master is too awesome to be in only one season, there's one Dalek left, and I hope the Cybermen come back. I'm looking forward to the Titanic episode, even if it can't be set at Christmas.
What I don't quite understand is Lucy, the Master's companion. Is she still under hypnosis? Did she have any free will? Did she love him, and that's why she stayed? I wouldn't think so, but I guess power is attractive. I guess she would have died anyway. Interesting.
And the music was awesome too.
