Dear diamonds,

Fuck you. You are most definitely not this girl's best friend right now.

---

Dear [livejournal.com profile] runaway_tales,

Your description on LJ Spotlight is making me confused. And hungry.

---

Dear Star Trek showing on IMAX,

My darling, cruel forces (see my letter to Diamonds) are conspiring to keep us apart. Best of love to you.

---

Sometimes, I really hate being a responsible adult.

Speaking as a member of Runaway Tales ... I never want to be in the Spotlight again. My flist has been unmanageable lately what with intros and enthusiastic newbies posting stories at a rate of one every nanosecond. I cannot keep up!

Diamonds are bitches. I sympathise.

Maybe take it off the flist for a couple of weeks? I tend to do that with major comms anyway (join them but check on them manually) because they do just that.

Diamonds (or more specifically, diamondiferous kimberlites) are bitches right now because all the evidence I have for a debate-style essay supports the idea that they're related to mantle plumes, and only an offhand comment during my lecture mentioned that there's another theory. And I can't find any hard evidence for that theory, so I'm kinda stumped. Not sure whether to mention the theory and acknowledge that I can't find anything about it, or ignore it completely. *sigh*

Hhhhhhmmmmm, I've heard Michael talking about diamond pipes ... he's coming over this lunchtime, do you want me to ask him a few searching questions? At the very least he might know where to find a couple of references :)

Thankyou, but I actually found something! One of the articles suggested about 7 different ways that they form (only two of which are really plausible, but that's enough) and looking back on my notes I can see small refs to subduction-related kimberlites in a few sources... sorry, I panicked. I promised myself that this wouldn't end with me in the library an hour before the essay is due. XD

But anyway, thanks for letting me blabber geology at you. *hug*

Okey dokey, if you're sure :) No problem at all for blabbering - if there's ever anything I can help with, let me know!

It seems like promotions make descriptions that're sort of intentionally off sometimes.

Things are better now! The sun is shining! I have ten pages of notes! LJ will change their Spotlight comms one day!

*hug anyway* Thanks. :D
