As we speak, there is a carton of strawberries sitting in the fruitbowl.

My entry for [community profile] femgenficathon is due two weeks from today.

So I have forbidden myself from eating any (more) of the former until I write the latter, or bash out a rough draft at least (which has the potential to end badly, because I am of the bordering-on-OCD edit-while-you-write persuasion).

Unstoppable force meets immovable object...

2.00AM

HAHA SUCCESS OF A SORT. AM APPROXIMATELY TWO-THIRDS OF THE WAY THROUGH AND ALREADY AT FIVE PAGES. STOPPING BECAUSE I'M FORGETTING HOW TO SPELL. EDIT IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT TAKES TOO MUCH EFFORT TO KEEP USING THE SHIFT KEY.

ARGH GOD THE EDITING IS GOING TO BE HELL.

BUT I GOT TO EAT MY GODDAMN STRAWBERRY. THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT.

For a moment I read that as a cartoon of strawberries, and then was wondering why you'd eat paper. I am not as awake as I thought. o.O

My spacing tends to go all over the place when I'm tired, I've discovered. And I'd eat a cartoon of strawberries if they were flavoured. :D

Love the Muse Torture icon! ^o^

Yes, edit-while-you-write syndrome can be extremely difficult to overcome but with the promise of strawberries waiting, I'm sure you can conquer it! *giggle*

If nothing else will get them going...

Well, I got two-thirds of the way through before I cracked and called it a night at 2am. And strawberries are win.

Fem-genfic? Hmmh, interesting. I think I knew of that contest once... what fandom is your story going to be about?

Femgenficathon is a lot of fun - non-romantic stories about canonical women. This is the first year I've tried it, although I've read the Masterlists from the last couple of years. Mine is about Nimloth and the Second Kinslaying, and Bad Things Happen.

Yeah, I loved the idea since day one. At this point, I think I would probably participate if it wasn´t because it must be about a fandom canonical character. Somehow, of late I only feel inspired by my own women...

And congratulations for eating the strawberries! :)

If it hadn't already been posted, I think you story about Ar-Alissha could have counted. In any case, it's a good general idea - stories about women that don't focus on love - and I like a lot of the quotes (even if I didn't use my own. Very bad, that.)

Well, I haven't eaten all of the strawberries. I need an incentive to finish the fic. :D

How? She´s not a canon character.

And stomach problems are no good for writing. Trust me on that! :(

Oh. Yes. Sorry. (But Inzilbeth has to be descended from somebody...)

I am actually quite proud for having made a Tolkien geek believe for a moment that Ar-Alissha was a canon character. :D

But Inzilbeth has to be descended from somebody...

LOL. This looks like the old discussion of "Is Legolas´s mother canon?"

Maybe some other year I´ll go ahead, post it (or a similar fic) and see if they notice. :)

People were seriously arguing if Legolas had a mother? How else do they think Elves breed - by mitosis? :D

It was like: if Elved do not breed by mitosis, this means that Tolkien intended Legolas to have a mother. And therefore, if you write about the mother of Legolas, you are writing canon and not a Mary Sue.
Flawless. :)
