EL: Um, guys, I kinda hafta study for exams.
MUSES: *puppy eyes*
EL: Oh, all right. But only a couple of fics.

EL: Okay, now I definitely have to study.
MUSES: *look pleading*
EL: No. After exams, okay?
MUSES: *sulk*
EL: *tries to study*
MUSES: *breed*
EL: *ignores them*
MUSES: Wheeeeeee! *run rampant in EL's brain and glue all the furniture to the ceiling*
EL: HEY!
MUSES: We're booooooooooored.
EL: Later, okay? Exams.

EL: *tries to study for Classics*
NIMLOTH: Um... El?
EL: *is sympathetic because minor Sindar get little love* What is it, dear?
NIMLOTH: Write about me! Look, I've got it all planned out, there's blood and angst and jewels and conspiracy theories and...
EL: *sigh* *points to back of very large queue*
NIMLOTH: *sulks off*
DAERON: I tried that too. She only likes the Noldor.
EL: *is getting a headache*

EL: What's this? Muses from other fandoms?
MAL: Eh, we see a space, we take it.
EL: But I've never even written Firefly fic! Except for that one tiny drabble that doesn't count, because someone requested it.
MAL: We've got shinies and blood and angst and cool language.
EL: I'm very busy.
MAL: Oh look, my shirt accidentally fell off.
EL: ...
WASH: Hey, mine too!
EL: Welcome aboard.

FIREFLY MUSES: Hell no. We’ve got better ideas anyway.
TM: What? Well, we’ll just give El ideas about multi-chapter fics about Numenor and Gondolin!
FM: And we’ll give her ideas about multi-chapter Firefly adventure fic!
TM: Denethor/Finduilas drabbles!
FM: Simon/Kaylee drabbles!
TM: Túrin angst!
FM: Battle of Serenity Valley angst!
EL: Will all of you please stop breeding?
ALL MUSES: No.
EL: *begins researching ways of getting amnesia*

EL: GET AWAY FROM ME!

One night…
MUSES: Right, we’ve got it all worked out… *talk for obscene lengths of time* …and that’s how we’re going to do it.
EL: *blink*
MUSES: Were you listening to any of that?
EL: *checks clock* IT IS THREE O’CLOCK IN THE GODS-DAMNED MORNING. LET. ME. SLEEP.
MUSES: We’ll be back tomorrow!
EL: *makes note to build muse-proof bunker*

MUSES: Hey, you know Gondor is really ancient Egypt, don’t you?
MUSES: They’ve got the river, and the obsession with death, and enemies to the south and east, and the kingdom in two halves, and…
EL: Does the phrase ‘exam in two days’ mean nothing to you?

MUSES: Exams are finished! You promised.
EL: *is cracked out on no sleep* *hands over brain* There. Take it. It is yours until February.
MUSES: Eh, not so interested now. *wander off*
EL: AAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!
EL: Okay, now I definitely have to study.

EL: Go and play somewhere else, will you?

Date: 2007-12-05 08:05 pm (UTC)I'm the same. I always find so many other things to do when I have exams. I especially remember revising for my 2nd year Ancient Egypt exam about 35 hours before because I had become addicted to a series of books my friend lent me.
